The Summer Hairstyle That Looks Hard (But Isn't)

You may have seen those mesmerising styling demo videos online, where stylists pull and coax strands into masterpieces. But a heads-up: this is not one of those. Watch Jill Buck quickly create this style with just a couple of ponytail sections like our own “second edition”. It is super easy, has a few clever steps, and delivers a polished look that elevates your summer hair. Watch the video and the step-by-step guide, try it yourself, then post it and tag @joico so we can see your work!

You will need
Joico Beach Shake Texturizing Finisher
Joico Design Works Shaping Spray
A couple of hair elastics
A hairbrush or comb

HOW TO, STEP BY STEP

  1. Spray Joico Beach Shake onto the hair.
  2. Use a brush or comb to smooth the hair into a half-up ponytail and secure it with an elastic.
  3. Spray Joico Design Works Shaping Spray over the hair to keep it smooth and prevent flyaways.
  4. Split the ponytail into two sections and secure each with a small elastic.
  5. Take one ponytail section and create a gap in the middle, keeping the end secure. Now take the end of your ponytail section and thread it through the gap 3 or 4 times, twisting the hair towards your head with each pass.
  6. Weave the second ponytail into the first twist and twist until both are woven together into one larger ponytail.
  7. Loosen the twist by gently tugging each section of hair outwards.
  8. Finish with Joico Design Works Shaping Spray for hold and shine.
